Jimny Sierra Equipped with Tras Natural Fiber Hood to Compete in AXCR 2026

The vehicle of the “GEOLANDAR CTS RALLY TEAM” competing in the 2026 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) is fitted with a natural fiber hood manufactured by Tras.
The competition car is a Suzuki Jimny Sierra (JB74), driven by the all-female crew of Koto Haneda (driver) and Momo Tsukishima (co-driver). The vehicle is equipped with Yokohama Rubber’s GEOLANDAR M/T G003 tires and is prepared and maintained by students of Chuo Automotive College.
This hood was produced by Tras using natural fiber prepreg with the dual aims of weight reduction and the use of sustainable materials. Compared with conventional carbon fiber components, the material significantly reduces CO₂ emissions during manufacturing while achieving both lightness and strength. It has been carefully crafted with Tras’s composite molding expertise to withstand the harsh conditions of off-road rallying.
Continuing from last year, Tras supports the AXCR 2026 challenge as part of its efforts to put low-environmental-impact materials into practical use in motorsport.
